Tone Tubby
Now available from the collection of Bob Daisley, a 1964 Vox AC-4.
This model is the “practice amp” offer from Vox available at this period, though still marketed as a “Soloist” model. Featuring the same presentation aspects as its bigger brothers, this model is equipped with on 8 inch speaker, two inputs, and footswitch operated tremolo.
Cosmetically this amp is in good condition, having not seen much apparent usage in its time, and aside from one or two small scuffs and a slight sag to the grille cloth, is otherwise untouched.
Electronically, there have been a few modifications, most noticeably the speaker, changed to an 8inch Tone Tubby. Aside from this, only the bypass & filter capacitors and power cable have been changed. It retains its original Mullard tubes, tone capacitors, and the adorable footswitch.
All in all this is a great option for a practice/small studio amp in great condition, with a good pedigree.
