We are always looking to buy quality vintage Gibson and Fender guitars from before 1970 . we can travel to you whether you’re local, interstate, or overseas taking the risks/difficulties out of selling a high end instrument.

Appraisals

We offer free appraisals to determine the make/year of production of your vintage guitar. You can do this by finding the contact section of my website and filling out the form. Contact us here

We also offer formal written appraisals for value and insurance purposes on vintage guitars for $300.00 AUD. This involves an in-person inspection of the instrument(s) at our Gladesville showroom, and a written value and breakdown of the instrument.

Payments & Laybys

We offer a variety of payment methods for customers looking to purchase interstate or overseas. All payments are to be made in Australian dollars (AUD).

These include:

• Card Payment (1.6% fee is calculated onto the final sale price)
• PayPal (3.5% fee is calculated onto the final sale price including shipping costs)
• EFT/bank wire transfer via invoice

Shipping

We now offer free interstate shipping on all guitar sales within Australia. We also offer worldwide shipping, please contact us for an accurate shipping quote for your country/location.

All our guitars are professionally packed outside and inside the case and are shipped express worldwide. Each guitar is fully insured with signature on delivery.

Amplifiers are pickup only, please contact us if you’re looking to have an amplifier shipped.

Returns & Warranty

All instruments shipped within Australia will have a 48-hour approval period/change of mind policy for returns, no questions asked. This means you will get a full refund if the instrument is returned in the same condition and packaging, minus all shipping costs (to and from).

This approval period/change of mind policy does not apply to consigned instruments or amplifiers.

All items are sold as-is with no returns past the approval period above (if applicable). Any item sold not as described is returnable outside this approval period.

To maintain safety and quality standards, used amplifiers require an inspection report from a qualified technician within the last 12 months prior to listing. All amplifiers are sold as-is with no returns.

Consignment

We are now taking in consignments for vintage/high-end Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, and Martin guitars. I also consign other vintage guitar brands and select boutique makers.

Our sales commission is 16% of the final sale price including GST, with a minimum commission of $500. As we are a smaller store specialising in primarily vintage and used guitars/amps, our minimum listing price is $2500 AUD for consignment pieces.

All instruments are to remain under our care when consigned, as per the rules we follow as licensed dealers of 2nd hand goods in NSW. For best possible chance at a successful sale, we ask that you leave the instrument with us for at least 60 days. There is no hold period, meaning the owner can collect their instrument at any organised time. Please note, any instruments taken back by the owner within 30 days of listing will incur a $150 listing fee.

An authentication of the item, general cleaning and a basic setup are included in our commission, however, any repair work required to make the instrument or amplifier functional will need to be addressed at the owner’s cost prior to listing. The owner can use a qualified repairman of their choosing, we can also facilitate repairs as well. To ensure safety and quality standards, all amplifiers require a service report within the last 12 months from a qualified technician before listing.

Once consigned the instrument will be exclusively listed by Joel’s Vintage Guitars Pty Ltd. We reserve the right to remove from sale any instrument that is advertised elsewhere by the owner or other parties.

All consignment items are stored in our high security showroom, all items are fully insured whilst in our care.
