Now available on consignment, a 1966 Mosrite Ventures II model.

Here we have a very cool example of the classic Mosrite silhouette, in a very, very crazed and checked original butter blond, which has turned to butter yellow over the years. This is a fairly stock standard Ventures 2 model, with a Maple neck and body, a Rosewood board, two very rich and powerful pickups, the unique pitch-accurate vibrato, and a very solid, if slim, neck.

This Mosrite has been refretted, which provides a fairly unique experience, in that it now plays and sounds fairly different from one with the original “fretless wonder” style frets. Aside from the refret though, every other part remains original, and is in good working order.

Cosmetically, this guitar has obviously seen some miles, and some weather, the entire body finish is cracked like fine antique china, and numerous little chips and dents abound, however nothing structurally threatening, and this condition only serves to highlight what a well used, and reliable instrument this is.

We’ve had several Mosrite guitars here over the last year, but the refret makes this particular guitar the most entertaining by far, it’s a joy to play, sounds sonorous acoustically, and downright beautiful plugged in, with a rich, full tone in either pickup position, chime and snarl for days and days.

Includes an early 60s Fender jag/jazzmaster brown case.
