Martin MTV-1 1996 Natural

Now available on consignment, a 1996 Martin 'MTV-1' model dreadnought acoustic. 

This guitar was produced by Martin in the mid ‘90s to commemorate MTV’s 'Unplugged' series, featuring a Mahogany neck & sides, a back which is half Mahogany, half Rosewood, a Spruce top, and Ebony bridge & fretboard. Also included on this model is a rather cowboy inspired “Unplugged” script in pearl down the fretboard in lieu of dot markers. 

Condition wise, this guitar has seen some decent use over its life, the top has quite a few dents and bumps, as do the back & sides. Quite recently, this guitar was damaged causing delamination of the joins around the back and neck heel, extending to the shoulders of the upper bouts. This has been professionally reglued, luckily no cracks formed on any of the timber.

Despite this, the guitar plays well, with a medium-low action, rings as clearly and truly as one would expect out of a Martin, and has a comfortable, smooth neck.
