Hofner Club 40 1962 Sunburst

Now available on consignment, a 1962 Hofner Club 40 in its original sunburst finish.

This original Hofner is a 'Selmer' example made for the UK market. Its in pretty decent shape with no major finish damage except for some dings on the body, and some checking and play wear on the neck. At one point a neck reset has been performed, there is evidence of this around the heel.

The 1x original single-coil pickup has been professionally rewound at some point, and the electrics appear to be all correct as well. The control plate and knob, pickguard, strap buttons, and tuners have been replaced. Otherwise all other original parts remain. Players such as John Lennon, George Harrison, David Gilmour, and Ritchie Blackmore are all known to have played a Hofner Club model at some point.
