Now available on consignment is this vintage 1976 Guild S-100C in its original natural finish with a carved top!
The S100 was first introduced in 1970 by Guild, designed to compete with the Gibson SG model. Starting in 1974 Guild released the S100C which featured a carved oak leaf and acorn pattern on the front of the body exclusive to this model. Both original Guild humbuckers remain, with the wiring harness appearing untouched (pots dating to '75 and '76). The original phase switch also offers another tonal option.
This example is in great overall condition for its age having the usual play wear and finish checking from nearly 50 years of use. The guitar remains in original condition with the exception of a replaced nut, and a small piece of binding replaced around the 15-17th frets by Sydney Luthier Piers Crocker (pictured). The original frets are worn, however play up and down the neck with no issues.
A fantastic playing and sounding Guild from the mid 70s, includes a later Guild case that fits well.
