Now available on consignment, a 1971 Gibson SG Standard in its original Walnut finish with batwing pickguard and the maestro vibrola!

This particular example has been played hard with tonnes of wear and rock 'n' roll vibe, its also very similar to the SG Angus Young used in the early days of AC/DC which was a '70/71.

Work to the guitar includes:

- Previous jumbo refret and a new nut.

- A few sets of tuners have been installed over the years including schallers, currently there are nickel plated Grover Rotomatics.

- The pots have been replaced with 4x 500k CTS, as well as one capacitor. The switch tip is a replacement.

- There is a hairline crack by the neck heel which was repaired long ago and is stable, and a repaired crack by the input jack.

Other than mentioned this guitar retains its original parts including its 2x original patent # decal pickups which are phased out not long after this. There are dings, chips, and finish checking all over the guitar showing this has been played for decades.

A fantastic playing SG that's among the last of the batwing guards, includes a newer hardcase (tremolo arm not included).
