Now available on consignment, a 1978 Gibson Les Paul Standard goldtop.
This guitar is a fine example of a late ‘70s Les Paul Standard, marking the return to a one-piece Mahogany body and Maple top, with two Patent # stamped humbuckers. Though still retaining earlier 70s appointments such as a 3-piece maple neck, pantograph cut logo, “standard” inscribed on the truss rod cover, moulded back Schaller-made Gibson tuners and a Nashville tune-o-matic bridge.
Modifications to this guitar are limited to the pickups rings, knobs, and strap buttons. The original rings (cracked) and knobs, are in the case. Otherwise the guitar retains its original frets, hardware, and plastics other than mentioned.
The condition of this Les Paul is pretty good, despite a few chips on the front and sides, and a fair bit of buckle rash it presents very well for nearly 50 years old. Freshly set up with 10’s, the original frets have some wear in frets 1-12 however they play well with no issues.
Includes its original chainsaw case and original plastics.
