Now available on consignment, a great playing 1969 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop with a one piece neck and body.

This example has some earlier '68 features such as no headstock volute, or made in USA stamp. As well as some transitional features such as the logo with no dot in the 'i', and the wider headstock which became stock from mid 1969.

This guitar has been professionally restored having the following work done:

- At one point a Kahler tremolo system was installed, this has since been professionally plugged by Grubisa Guitars who also performed and aged a convincing top only refinish.

- The jackplate, bridge and tailpiece studs, switch ring, and 3-way switch are replacement parts (original switch is included).

- The guitar has been refretted with a new nut some time ago.

- Grover tuners were installed at some stage, period double line/double ring Kluson deluxe tuners are back in place. There is expert touchup either side of the truss rod cover from a locking nut (visible under UV light).

- The lower strap button has been moved at some point.

Otherwise this guitar retains a fantastic feel with the finish on the back, sides, and neck being original with tonnes of vibe and play wear. The original plastics all remain, and all 4x original CTS pots date to the 50th week of '68, original 'black beauty' capacitors are in place. Both original soap-bar P90 pickups are strong and deliver the classic tone of these P90 Les Paul Goldtops.

A great looking and playing late 60s goldtop with all of the important parts, dont miss this one!

Includes a 70s Gibson case in good condition.
