Now available, an original 1968 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop!

This example is among the 2nd run of Les Paul Standard's made in 1968, featuring the silk screened 'Les Paul' logo, a 1-piece mahogany neck with the small headstock and long neck tenon,  and a 1-piece body.

As you can see this example presents in fantastic condition for a 56 year old guitar, having some light dings here and there, as well as some mild finish checking. At some point a sticker was on the front of the body by the upper bout, this was removed long ago. There are NO breaks or repairs whatsoever on this example, and its lightweight at just over 9lbs.

Other than a modern jackplate, this guitar retains all of its original parts. All of the hardware remains including the double line/double ring Kluson deluxe tuners, chrome plated wired abr1 with nylon saddles, and aluminium tailpiece. Both original soapbar p90s are strong having never been out of the guitar. The wiring harness is completely untouched as well with all 4x 500k CTS pots dating to the 33rd week of 1968.

The original frets have some wear, however they are in good shape and play great with a low easy playing action.

One of the best examples from this year to come through the store! Includes its original hardcase with repaired handle.
