Now available on consignment, a 1963 Gibson Les Paul/SG Standard in its original cherry finish.
This is a great playing example of one of our favourite Gibson guitars from the 1960s, and one of the last to bear the 'Les Paul' name before transitioning to the SG. It features 2x unopened original pickups, 1x PAF and 1x Patent #, this is common in 1963 with the only difference being the sticker. Other features include the original sideways vibrola, small 3-ply pickguard, and the original single line, double ring tuners. The original Centralab pots date to '63, and the wiring harness remains untouched.
Unlike many examples of this period this guitar has NO breaks or repairs to the headstock or heel joint, and the original finish is untouched despite some fade to the cherry on the front of the body. There is finish checking and play wear to note over the whole guitar, however the guitar presents in good original condition overall. The only replaced parts are the bridge saddles, all other parts on the guitar remain as it left the factory. The original frets play very well despite some wear, plenty of life remains however.
A great playing Les Paul/ SG Standard with a chunky neck, includes its original Gibson hardcase.
