Gibson Les Paul Custom 1981 3-Pickup Black

Now available on consignment is this 1981 Gibson Les Paul Custom 3-pickup model in its original black finish.

At this point 3 pickup models were still by order only, hence why you dont see a lot on the market from this era. This example shows some signs of play wear, with wear to the gold parts and some buckle rash on the back.

At some point the guitar was wired to be like Jimmy Page's custom, however it was recently returned to spec with standard wiring (B, B+M, N) by Sydney luthier Piers Crocker. One capacitor and a piece of braided wire to the switch have been replaced, however all other original parts remain otherwise.

The guitar otherwise has 3 great sounding original Tim Shaw designed humbucking pickups, and still retains some late 70s specs such as the 3-piece maple neck.
