Just traded in, an early 1965 Gibson ES345TD in sunburst.
This early 1965 Gibson ES345 has been well played, and it features all '64 specifications including the wider 1&11/16" nut width, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, and the factory stop-tail piece. There are some modifications which are listed below:
- At some point the neck was rebound and re-fretted with a new nut.
- There was a professional neck heel repair performed by Piers Crocker a few years ago, the repair is solid and is hard to spot.
- The stereo-varitone wiring has been replaced with a modern harness wired mono, the original harness is included. The stereo switch ring is a modern replacement.
- The bridge is a period correct gold ABR-1 from the late 1960s, and the strap buttons are replaced.
Otherwise this guitar retains its original sunburst finish with some checking, and both gold plated patent # pickups with original coils (covers have been off at some point). Other than mentioned, the plastics remain all correct including the 3ply pickguard, M69 pickup rings, knobs, and truss rod cover.
The guitar has been recently setup with 10-46 strings, and plays great with a fantastic medium chunky neck profile.
Includes an original 60s Lifton case, and the original wiring harness.
