Fender Telecaster 1968 Blonde

Now available on consignment, a 1968 Fender Telecaster in its original blonde finish.

This Telecaster is a nice tidy example in largely good original condition. This guitar has an April neck date, nitro lacquer neck, quite a lightweight Ash body, nicely figured Indian Rosewood board, and a nice, straight maple neck. 

The only modifications to this guitar are a partial refret with vintage style fretwire to the 12th, a replaced nut, replaced saddles, and a replaced bridge plate (original saddles included). Otherwise the guitar retains the rest of its original hardware, and 3-ply pickguard with no cracks. Both pickups remain original and untouched, as does the electronics including the switch, capacitor, and pots dating to the 18th week of 1966. 

The condition of this guitar is quite good, it has many little bumps and nicks, some very light buckle rash, and a little bit of forearm wear on the edge of the top. Also of note are the two marks below the bridge made by two stickers of yore, one of them clearly being a very “flower power-esque” sticker. Altogether this seems like a guitar played regularly but recreationally by someone with care and good handling, or at most a quietly & calmly gigged guitar. 

Simply put this is a great feeling and playing Telecaster, humble as the best are, with responsive pickups, a comfortable weight, a smooth playing neck, and plenty of life left in the original frets.
