Now available, a 1969 Fender Stratocaster in sunburst with a maple cap fingerboard.

This is a rare example of a factory maple cap neck Fender Stratocaster, among the last before Fender transitioned back to the skunk stripe. As you can see the guitar has been well played throughout its life, with a tonne of natural play wear on the original sunburst finish. This particular example came from a well known west coast USA vintage store a few years ago, video attached.

The guitar remains mostly intact and original, however the guitar has been refretted with medium jumbo frets and a new nut some time ago. Likely at the same time the fingerboard and back of the neck have had the polyester finish taken off, giving it a smooth worn in feel much like an earlier nitrocellulose finished neck. The headstock finish and decal remain original and untouched, as does the body.

Otherwise the guitar retains all of its original electronics including all 3x CTS pots dating to the 18th week of '66 (common for '66-'71), and all 3x grey bottom pickups dating to 1969. The bridge pickup has been wired into the tone control on the switch, and there are a few reheated solder joints. The guitar retains all of its original hardware including the pat pend. saddles, tremolo and jack-plate, neckplate/serial # and screws, and the Fender 'F' tuners.

The guitar has been recently setup instore with 10-46 strings and is ready to play.

An absolutely killer playing and sounding maple cap Fender Stratocaster!

Includes an era correct tail logo Fender case and original tremolo arm.
