Now available on consignment, a fantastic looking early 1966 Fender Stratocaster with a professional body only refinish to Sherwood Green Metallic by Joe Riggio.
This guitar was recently imported from Nashville, and has the typical 1966 features including a nitrocellolose finish, 3x grey bobbin pickups, and of course the big headstock!
The guitar was refretted a while ago with medium jumbo frets which have plenty of life, and a new nut was installed. At one point a mini switch was installed between the controls, a period late 60s pickguard has been installed to restore the guitar (see photos). The cloth wires to the input jack are replaced, the jack itself is original.
Otherwise the guitar retains its original parts including the wiring with all 3 pickups and pots (6610) dating to early 1966. The original plastics and hardware all remain as well right down to the original saddles and double line kluson tuners.
The body refinish as you can see is top notch work, recreating accurately a Sherwood Green Metallic custom colour finish. The neck finish remains untouched too with no overspray or finish work.
A fantastic opportunity to get a great playing mid 60s Stratocaster, dont sleep on this one! Includes an early 70s hardcase with backplate.
