Now available on consignment, an early 1964 Fender Stratocaster in its original 3-tone sunburst finish.
This particular example has all of the desirable pre-CBS features including clay dot inlays, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and the spaghetti logo. It has been well played, with plenty of buckle rash and checking from decades of real play time. The guitar has a few changes including:
Other than mentioned the guitar retains most of its original parts, including all of the original hardware, and plastics including the 3ply nitrate celluloid pickguard with no cracks. The original frets have some wear however play well with a low to medium action. The back of the neck has most of the finish worn off having a full C profile which feels great in hand.
All three original black bottom pickups are untouched and have the yellow date stamp of June '64, with the two remaining original CTS pots dating to the 20th and the 22nd week of 1964. Otherwise the original 3-way switch, cloth wiring and capacitor remain, as does the original input jack.
Overall a great feeling and sounding pre-CBS Fender Stratocaster!
Includes a mid to late 60s Fender hardcase, and the original tremolo arm.
