Now available on consignment, an early 1964 Fender Stratocaster refinished in Sonic Blue.
This is a really cool example of a body only refinish pre-CBS Stratocaster with all of the desirable pre-cbs features including 'clay' dot inlays, a Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, and the nitrate celluloid pickguard. This guitar has been in a private collection for some time, with the body refinish having been performed decades ago with some nice yellowing of the clearcoat.
Other changes include:
Otherwise the guitar retains most of its original parts including its original celluloid nitrate pickguard (cracked at the neck pickup), knobs and switch tip. The original tremolo plate, and pat pend. saddles all remain as well (replated in the past). The wiring harness appears original with the original CTS pots dating to the 22nd week of '64, and the capacitor and original 3-way switch are present. The original black bottom pickups are all healthy and original with exception of the forementioned rewound middle pickup.
Overall this is a great playing and sounding 60s Fender Stratocaster that is ready for its next chapter.
Includes a modern Fender hardcase, and original tremolo arm.
