Now available, an early 1964 Fender Stratocaster in its original Fiesta Red finish.
This is a fantastic example of a fully original pre-CBS Fender Stratocaster in factory custom colour Fiesta Red. The guitar presents in very good condition for a 62 years of age, showing little play wear on both the body and the neck. There is some buckle rash, a few dings, and some light checking here and there, however the guitar appears to have been un-played for most of its life, with barely any wear on the original frets.
The guitar made its way to Australia from the UK some years ago, originally being sold in Manchester in 1964. Included is a letter from the original owner who played the guitar in his band 'Peter and the Playboys'.
It features all the typical pre-CBS specifications including the spaghetti logo, clay dot fingerboard inlays, a nitrate celluloid pickguard, and single line Kluson deluxe tuners. The original Fiesta Red finish has the half painted neck pocket, and white undercoat which is typical for mid 1963 and later. There are no signs of any touch-up or overspray.
The guitar retains all of its original hardware and plastics, all in clean condition matching the rest of the guitar. Under the pickguard all of the electronics remain untouched, including all three black bobbin pickups, 3-way switch, and the 3x Stackpole pots dating to the third week of 1964. These pot dates line up with the neck date of December.
The guitar plays flawlessly thanks to a recent setup with 10-46 strings and a low-medium action. Plugged in this is also a great sounding guitar with balance across all three pickups, which isn't always the case for guitars in this condition.
A rare chance to obtain a clean and original Fiesta Red Fender Stratocaster.
Includes its original UK Selmer export case, bridge cover, tremolo arm, and a letter from the original owner.
