Fender Stratocaster 1964 Candy Apple Red Refinish

Now available, a 1964 Fender Stratocaster with an old Candy Apple Red body only refinish.

This is a well-worn but lovely Strat, with minimal changes and lots of honest wear, showcasing the best of early-to-mid ‘60s Fender craftsmanship. Featuring a fine Maple neck with a veneer Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard dated to December of ‘63, Alder body, and all original hardware.

Other than the Candy Apple Red body refinish, the only modification is an extra strap button hole on the top horn and a missing back-plate. The guitar was originally Olympic White which is seen in the pickup cavities, the CAR finish has plenty of honest play wear and on the back there is a decent amount of buckle rash. The neck remains original with no finish work having seen a fair amount of play time with a nice worn in feel. In addition some of the original decal is missing.

Otherwise the guitar retains most of its original parts including its original celluloid nitrate pickguard (cracked at the tip of the horn and repaired), knobs and switch tip. The original tremolo plate, block, and pat pend. saddles all remain as well. The wiring harness appears original with the CTS pots dating to the 3rd week of '64, 3-way switch, and the original capacitor in place. The original black bottom pickups are all healthy and original with NO rewinds.

This Strat, though having worn original frets, has a very comfortable neck, a solid but balanced body, and a great sounding set of original black bottom pickups. This all combines to make this quite a lovely Stratocaster, and a wonderful player-grade guitar.

Recently set up and strung with 10-46, includes a mid 60s Stamford export case.
