Fender Stratocaster 1963 Sunburst Refinish

Now available on consignment, a 1963 Fender Stratocaster that has been fully refinished.

This guitar has been with the same owner since the 70s, having had many modifications done early in its life. Please see below a list of work performed over the years:

- The body and neck have been fully refinished multiple times in the past.

- A switch was installed on the horn at some point with a route made in the body, the hole through the original pickguard has been carefully repaired by Grubisa Guitars.

- The headstock was sanded thin by a previous owner, this has been restored to its original depth by Grubisa Guitars with a thin veneer added to the front of the headstock which is barely visible. A reproduction decal has been applied at the same time.

- The guitar has been refretted long ago with some sanding to the fingerboard, the clay dot inlays were replaced with pearl.

- The tuners are period correct single lines (high e incorrect), however they have been replated at some point.

- The bridge and neck pickups are grey bottoms from the early 1970s, the middle pickup is original however it has been rewound.

- The wiring harness has been replaced with  3x modern CTS pots, capacitor, switch, and input jack.

- The tremolo unit is from an early AVRI Fender Stratocaster.

- The switch tip, backplate, strap buttons, and neck screws are replacements.

- The original parts include the body, neck, L neck-plate, pick-guard, knobs, middle pickup, tuners, and jack-plate.

Despite the modifications this guitar still retains the feel of an original '63 strat having a nice full feeling C shape neck profile, and the original Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

The body finish has some nice checking and vibe, as does the original 3ply celluloid nitrate pickguard.
