Professional refret, period tone pot
Now available, an early 1961 Fender Stratocaster in its original 3-tone sunburst finish with slab rosewood fingerboard.
This guitar made its way to Australia from the US only recently, having been purchased from the family of its original owner earlier this year.
Included with the guitar are copies of an old band photo, a local newspaper article, and a single/record from the owner's band 'The Citations'.
As you can see the guitar has been played, having some buckle rash on the back of the body, some wear to the back of the neck, and some light finish checking all over. The guitar has been professionally refretted with vintage tall wire and a new nut. The 7.25" radius has been retained with NO sanding to the fingerboard.
Otherwise the guitar retains nearly all of its original parts including all of the plastics and hardware down to the original screws. The 3x original black bottom pickups are healthy and untouched, as is most of the wiring harness. The original volume and lower tone pot both date to the 4th week of '61, with an exact period replacement tone pot in the centre dating to the 45th week of '61.
A stunning uncirculated example of an original 1961 Fender Stratocaster that plays and sounds as good as it looks!
Includes its clean original brown tolex case, original bridge cover, and tremolo arm.
