Now available on consignment, a 1957 Fender Stratocaster in its original 2-tone sunburst finish.
This is a fantastic example of a 1957 Fender Stratocaster that remains in original condition right down to the frets and nut. As you can see the guitar has been played, showing the typical wear through the lacquer on the maple neck. Overall however it presents in great shape, with exception of a few dings here and there. The original 2-tone sunburst finish is clean, with no signs of touchup or overspray.
All of the plastics remain original, including the 1-ply pickguard, polystyrene pickup covers, knobs, switch tip, and the backplate/screws. The 3x original black bottom pickups are healthy with original coils, the middle pickup has had a solder joint at the bobbin re-heated at some point (NO rewind). The wiring harness appears untouched except for some solder touch-up at the volume pot, all 3x Stackpole pots date to the 4th week of 1957, which lines up with a body and neck date of 2/57. The ONLY replaced parts are the pickup height grommets, the originals are included in the case.
The original frets play surprisingly great as-is, with some wear to note in the first few positions. Its currently setup with 10-46 strings and a low action.
A stunning, clean example of a classic year for the Fender Stratocaster!
Includes its original tweed case, bridge cover, and tremolo arm.
