Now available, a 1965 Fender Precision Bass in its original Dakota Red finish.

This particular example has been played, however it remains in totally original condition right down to the frets, and nut. As you can see the factory Dakota Red finish shows some checking and play wear revealing the white undercoat. At some point a strap button was added to the neck heel which is now removed, the finish on the body and neck are otherwise untouched.

All of the original hardware remains including the reverse tuners, threaded 3-saddle bridge, and all of the screws. The original white 3-ply pickguard has no cracks, and the original electronics remain including the grey bottom split-coil pickup, and the wiring harness with the Stackpole pots dating to the 20th week of 1965. There is some solder touchup on the volume pot, otherwise the harness is untouched.

The bass plays with a fairly low action and a straight neck, the original frets play well despite some wear in the first few positions.

A fantastic example of a clean, custom colour L series Fender Precision Bass!

Includes its original black tolex case and covers.
