Swapped Parts
partial refret, tug bar
Now available on consignment, an early 1962 Fender Precision Bass refinished to 'Greenburst'.
This bass has definitely seen some gigs in its life, having had an older body refinish in a cool Burns like 'green burst' finish. Originally this bass shipped in factory Fiesta Red, hence the 3-ply 'mint green' celluloid pickguard.
It retains most of its original parts including the split-coil black bobbin pickup which remains healthy and untouched, the original wiring harness with both stack-pole pots dating to the 31st week of '62, and all of the hardware including the reverse tuners, knobs, string tree, strap buttons, bridge plate, and threaded saddles. The only replacement part is a reproduction tug bar.
The slab-board neck retains its original untouched finish and decal, with the only change being a partial refret to the 10th with vintage style frets. The neck is dead straight with a smooth turning truss rod making this a great working bass as well.
One of the best playing pre-CBS precision basses to come into the shop, and a nice lightweight example.
Includes a reissue tweed Fender case and original bridge/pickup covers.
