One cover screw, missing tugbar.
Now available on consignment, an original late 1962 Fender Precision Bass in its original 3-tone sunburst finish with tortoiseshell pickguard.
This example came from the USA sometime ago, showing some play wear as you would expect for a 62 year old instrument. It has all of the pre-CBS specifications including a brazillian rosewood fingerboard with clay dots, and an August neck date. This lines up with the 2x original stackpole pots dating to the 31st week of 1962.
Most of the original parts remain, except for a missing tug bar on the pickguard and one screw for the bridge cover. At one point another bridge was installed, however the original bridge and saddles are now installed with no extra holes/modification.
The original tortoisehell pickguard has no cracks, and the rest of the hardware is correct for '62 including the bridge, tuners, screws, bridge plate and strap buttons.
This one has been recently setup, and the original frets play well despite some wear especially at the first few frets.
A fantastic sounding pre-CBS Fender Precision Bass from a classic year!
Includes its original brown tolex case in fully functional condition.
