Ground wire, 2x bridge cover screws

Now available on consignment, an original late 1959/early 1960 Fender Precision Bass in its original faded sunburst finish with tortoiseshell pickguard.

This example came from the USA over 25 years ago, showing some play wear as you would expect for a 64 year old instrument.

It has all of the pre-CBS specifications including a slab brazillian rosewood fingerboard with clay dots and no neck date (this changed from maple in 1959). This matches the body date of '10/59', and the 2x original pots dating to the 45th week of 1959.

Most of the original parts remain, except for the ground wire to the bridge, and 2 screws for the bridge covers. It seems a previous owner moved the tug-bar to multiple locations including at the top and above the pickguard, and a few places between the pickup and the bridge. A strat button in the cutaway, and on the lower horn have been touched up with nail polish. There are small amounts of touch-up to the front and back of the body as well (see pictures).

Otherwise the guitar retains most of its original parts including a healthy split-coil black bottom pickup, and the original frets and nut.

This one has been recently setup, and the original frets play very well despite some slight buzzing above the 15th fret on the low-e side.

A fantastic sounding pre-CBS Fender Precision Bass!  Includes its original brown tolex case fair condition (lacquered).
