Now available on consignment, a 1974 Fender Mustang Bass in sunburst.
Conceived in the hazy CBS days where options were everything, the Mustang bass was another of those. Featuring a miniature, flat-pole version of the split P-Bass style humbucker, and one volume and tone, in fact the most hi-falutin moving part on this instrument is the screw-up mute system.
This particular instrument has seen a very quiet & gentle life, it retains all original components, original finish, and well preserved decals. Aside from a few small bumps and dents on the front, and a very mild amount of buckle rash on the back, there is very little use on this bass. The neck is straight and the bass plays with a medium action. The only thing to note is that the screw-up mutes don’t work, someone has thoughtfully bent them down at some stage, but they remain present at least.
Freshly set up, and strung with a set of round wounds, comes with a hard shell case and its original hangtag.
