Fender Mustang 1966 Red Refinish

Now available on consignment, a 1966 Fender Mustang with a body refinish.

This is a great example of a player grade 60s Mustang, sporting a few changes including a body refinish in Dakota Red, changed switches, knobs, modern CTS pots installed, and a replacement early ‘70s pickup in the bridge position. The guitar has also been professionally refretted with a new nut in the last 10 years.

Otherwise the original Fender 'F' tuners, bridge, original grey bottom neck pickup hand dated to '66, vibrato and pickguard all remain. The guitar has a nice even C shaped neck with a comfortable 24” scale length. The refinish was done carefully and accurately with some light finish checking.

This Mustang is a cutie, the neck is comfy and slick, lightweight and easy to handle. The neck pickup has a touch more depth and richness than the bridge, which is a little brighter however matches well. All in all, a great little players guitar.

Set up and strung with 10-46, includes a 70’s Mustang case.
