Now available, a 1966 Fender Jazz Bass in factory Lake Placid Blue with matching headstock.
This is a well played but original example of a custom colour Fender Jazz Bass, featuring the matching headstock with transition logo, bound neck, and dot inlays on the fingerboard. The bass has been well played, with some fade to the clearcoat over the original finish, and some finish checking and wear from years of use.
Most of the original parts remain including both of the original grey bottom pickups, and all 3x CTS pots dating to late '65 and early '66. The original 3ply pick-guard has no cracks, and the hardware is all correct for '66 including the lollipop tuners, screws, bridge plate, and saddles.
The only replaced parts are the bridge/pickup cover mounting screws, otherwise all parts remain original minus the frets. At some point the tug bar was moved above the pickguard, this has since been reverted with the screw holes professionally touched up, otherwise the original finish is untouched.
At some point in the past the neck was nicely re-fretted, its currently setup with a medium-low action, slight relief on the neck, and round wound strings. The truss rod is fully functional, and neck has a fantastic worn in feel to it.
A truly great looking and sounding original custom colour Fender Jazz Bass, includes a period correct case (one broken latch).
