Now available on consignment, a 1966 Fender Jaguar in its original sunburst finish.
This Jag, acquired at the same time as our white refin, is quite a different animal, though still player grade, it certainly presents more honestly. This guitar hasn’t had a whole lot of modifications, but there still have been some changes here and there, most notably a p-90 sized route in the neck pickup position, a refret, added string tree, Mustang bridge and saddles, a refret, new nut, period-correct or original (pre p-90) pickguard, and obviously some solder work to remove and then reattach the neck pickup.
However, everything else on this instrument is as it left the factory, a clean and bright sunburst, original pickups, and wiring with the pots dated to the 12th week of ‘66.
Cosmetically, this Jag has definitely seen some usage, it displays a fair amount of buckle rash, a couple of chips off the finish around the edges, but all in all quite a fairly reasonable amount of wear given it’s lifespan.
This guitar plays comfortably and easily, again the addition of the Mustang bridge definitely assists playability, and it has quite a bright, rich tone.
Strung with 11-49’s and freshly set up, includes a 70s Fender hard case.
