Just traded back in, an early 1964 Fender Jaguar that has been professionally refinished in a stunning Lake Placid Blue decades ago.
Work to the guitar includes:
- Both the body and neck were professionally refinished to Lake Placid Blue in 2003, the headstock has a reproduction decal. It appears this was a custom colour with a matching headstock originally, this is further supported by the original nitrate celluloid pickguard (mostly found on custom colour jaguars).
- At one point an extra string tree and schaller tuners were installed, there are currently conversion bushings installed with modern kluson style tuners.
- The strap buttons, bridge, tremolo arm and collet have been replaced with Staytrem parts, the original tremolo arm and insert are included.
- The volume pot has been replaced with a modern 250k CTS part.
- The guitar was refretted with medium jumbo frets which have plenty of life, the fingerboard was shaved to a 9.5" radius at this time.
Otherwise this guitar retains both of its original pickups, and the rest of the electronics remain original minus the volume pot as mentioned. It seems a past owner also carved their social security number on the neckplate.
A fantastic playing and sounding Pre-CBS Jaguar with a great quality refinish. Includes a period Fender case with the original tremolo arm and insert.
