Here is something truly special from my collection that's now available!

An original 1953 Fender Esquire in its butterscotch blonde finish over ash body with some aging from nicotine through the years.

This example features a stunning 1-piece flamed maple neck and some fantastic wood grain on the body, making this a stand-out example cosmetically (and also plugged in!).

The guitar remains fully original except for a replacement nut aged by Piers Crocker here in Sydney to match the patina on the neck. The original frets play well with no issues bending on the higher frets. To note there is a small 1cm diameter sized touchup near the neck heel to cover a finish chip (pictured).

The guitar still has its factory Esquire wiring, with all solder in the control cavity appearing untouched from the factory. The control cavity tape remains and is signed 'Gloria 9/4/53', this is consistent with the neck date (9-1-53) and the body date (8-11-53) meaning the guitar was completed in the latter part of 1953.

The original flat pole-piece pickup sounds fantastic with a healthy output of 6.6k ohms, and the guitar is lightweight at just over 3.3kg. All of the hardware remains original down to every screw, with the exception of a (possibly) replaced low E tuner. There is currently a correct no-line kluson deluxe tuner in place, and there has never been any other tuners installed.

A fantastic playing and looking example of an original blackguard Esquire with some stunning wood figure to boot.

Comes in a reissue thermometer tweed case with the original bridge cover.
