Now available on consignment, a clean 1999 Fender “Custom Vibrolux Reverb”.

This amp is essentially a ‘64 style blackface Vibrolux Reverb, assembled in the Arizona Custom Shop in April 1999. Featuring normal and bright channels, export 240V transformer, a 3 spring reverb pan, 35 watt output driving 2x 6L6’s, 5x 12AX7’s and 1x 12AT7, into 2 10’’ Jensen P10-R speakers.

This particular amp has had a few modifications to take it back to an early 60’s “brownface” Vibroverb style spec. These are as follows:

  • Reverb has been disconnected from Ch1 (normal) allowing for greater tonal distinction.
  • Shunting cap installed on one 12AX7 phase inverter, for parasitic noise common on PCB.
  • Negative feedback loop installed to reduce hiss & increase headroom.
  • Removal of surge protection diodes, as they are renown to make switching to standby mode problematic.
  • Two micro switches, the upper being two levels of mid cut, the lower being a db/bass cut.

All in all this is a dependable and powerful amp, with greater versatility than the stock model, bright, powerful and clear, with increased headroom and lush reverb. Please note, this amplifier, does not ship with a foot-switch.
