Now available on consignment, a 1983 Fender AVRI Jazz Bass in its original sunburst finish.

Produced in the CBS Fullerton California factory, produced to be the first re-issue of a 1962 style “stack knob” Jazz Bass. Accordingly, this bass features all the characteristics of that year of production, including the stacked potentiometers, the copper grounding strip between bridge and pickup, and the transition logo decal. It also features the period-correct grey & red bobbin pickups.

Modifications to this bass include a replaced pickguard and screws, and the three screws holding the control plate on. Aside from that, the bass is completely original.

Cosmetically, there are obvious signs of use in its 42 year history, with plenty of dings and dents in the body, and a good amount of honest wear on the back of the neck. It is also missing the bridge & pickup cover. The frets still have plenty of life, the neck is straight and it plays well with a medium to low action.

Includes a modern Fender hardcase.
