Now available on consignment is a 1965 Ampeg Jet 12-D.
This example is fairly clean, bearing a chassis number that dates it to 1965. Externally it retains it’s original blue check Tolex with minimal scuffs and tears, original leather handle, and original grille cloth.
Electronically work to the amp is as follows, the power transformer has been changed, and the 7591 preamp tubes have been swapped for two EHX Sovtek versions. The multi-cap can has been swapped for a replica, and the speaker has been swapped for a Celestion G12M 20 watt speaker.
It retains it’s original Ampeg/Sylvania 6BK11 output tubes, the tremolo circuit works well, it has been converted to 250v power, and is ready to play after a service by the Guitar Amp Tech in Sydney.
This is a great little gigging and recording unit, renowned for it’s rich tone, lush tremolo, and portability. A great opportunity for a reliable vintage amp.
