Gibson SG Special 1964/65 Cherry

Now available on consignment, a 1965 Gibson SG Special.

Here we have a really lovely early ‘65 SG Special, mostly late ‘64 in specs, featuring the 1&11/16" nut width, late '64 pot dates, and a Brazilian rosewood board.

This SG Special is a factory non-vibrato model, which is less common than the standard vibrato equipped models. It retains all its original components except for the bridge which has been replaced with a Music City bridge for improved intonation (the original bridge is not included).

Cosmetically the guitar is in great shape having some light checking in the lacquer, and a few small bumps here and there some of which have some light touch-up. Luckily the guitar has suffered NO breaks or repairs at the headstock or heel unlike so many of this era.

Overall this is a great playing example of an SG Special with a strong set of original P90 pickups that are very responsive, and a nice '64 style medium chunky neck.

Recently strung and set up with 10-46, includes its original Gibson case.
