Now available on consignment, a very well played 1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom in its original worn Wine Red finish!
This example shows significant play wear to the back of the neck and body, having been used consistently for decades.
Work to the guitar includes:
- Replaced pickup rings, pickguard, knobs and jackplate.
- Replaced bridge and tailpiece, replaced pickup covers.
- The original pickups were replaced long ago, however correct mid 70s patent # pickups were sourced by its current owner.
- The guitar has been rewired with replacement CTS 250k pots, and paper in oil capacitors.
Otherwise the guitar has no breaks or repairs to the neck, and the finish remains original other than some touchup from a mini switch plug between the controls. At one point some numbers were carved into the heel as well, see pictures.
The original frets are worn from play, however the guitar plays up and down the neck with no issues. Overall a great playing mid 70s custom, includes a modern case.
