Now available, a well used original 1971 Gibson Les Paul Custom in its original sunburst finish!

This particular example is a factory 2nd, meaning when new it had a small blemish somewhere. It could also relate to the finish, as you rarely see Les Paul Customs in this sunburst, (mostly seen on archtops and ES 335s) vs the common cherry sunburst.

Playability wise, this guitar sounds fantastic. Having both of its original patent # decal pickups, a nice round C shape neck, and a fair weight at 4.4kg.

Work to the guitar includes:

- A refret with medium jumbo frets sometime ago, there is some sanding to the board on the higher frets. It plays very well with a low action and 10-46 gauge strings

- The guitar had 80s speed knobs when I got it, I sourced period early 70s witches hat knobs to restore the guitar to spec.

- The jackplate is a replacement.

Otherwise this guitar retains most of its original parts, and has NO breaks or repairs to the neck. All 4x original pots date to 1971, with the bridge volume pot track being replaced due to wear (original in the case).

The original hardware all remains as well, and the guitar has its original waffleback Klusons, having never had other tuners installed.

A fantastic sounding and playing early 70s Les Paul Custom in an unusual finish! Includes its original purple lined Gibson case in fair but solid condition.
