Now available on consignment, a 1953 Gibson ES175 in its original sunburst finish!
This is a fairly early example of a Gibson ES175, featuring a single dogear P90 pickup, laminated maple back and sides, a rosewood bridge and fingerboard, and parallelogram inlays.
The guitar retains most of its original parts with exception of the tailpiece (the original broken trapeze is included), and the tone pot. The original wiring harness otherwise remains with the IRC volume pot dating to the 13th week of '53. At one point another bridge was fitted, however the original rosewood bridge, brass thumbwheels, and saddle remain. The bridge has been shaved down to improve the action, and there is some light touchup on the bass side of the bridge, see photos. There has been a few added strap buttons to the heel as well.
Otherwise the guitar presents in great overall condition, with a surprising amount of life in the original small Gibson frets.
Includes its original Lifton case (original tailpiece included).
