Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Class 5 2001

Now available on consignment, a 2001 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard Class 5.

This is a tidy example of a Custom Shop Les Paul Standard, though not a reissue, it shares many attributes with one including a finely flamed maple top, ABR-1 bridge and Kluson style tuners. Also present is a single piece mahogany neck and single piece mahogany body. The pickups are ‘57 Classics, and the neck is a slim ‘60s style profile with medium vintage wire.

There is no evidence of fret pitting or wear, little wear to the board, and on the whole, very little signs of use at all. There are one or two tiny dents across the back of the body and neck, and one corner of the jack plate has been glued to prevent further cracking, but aside from this the guitar has been treated very well. Straplock pins have been installed, the originals are in the case, along with the COA and all documentation.

This Les Paul plays well, with a slick feeling neck, and a good weight. It’s resonant and clear, and very enjoyable. Set up and strung with 10-46, comes with its OHSC and case candy.
